I just got the message from Kathryn (KSMarksPsych) that the S-Korean embassy sent her visa to her yesterday (Thursday), so she should get it tomorrow (Saturday).

That will mean that by Tuesday she will be able to step on the plane and fly off to Las Vegas, to Seoul, to Ulsan.

Just post your good wishes to her here, if you want to.
When she's able to, she'll log her progress on http://esladventures.wordpress.com/

And hopefully in another 14 days we'll see her back here. :-)

Thanks to you all.

I'll try not to teach all my bad spelling habits to my kids.

Ya know...

Y'all are the best!

The BOINC community is awesome. Truly one of the most caring and involved ones that I've ever been a part of.

I found BOINC while living in Korea. On a whim I was looking up Seti Classic and was going to get involved with that again. When I saw Seti was moving over to BOINC I jumped in with both feet. I'm so glad I did so. The friends I've made have changed my life. I've learned so many things and gained confidence just by running a little program.

Thanks to everyone who makes this community the great place it is!

I am truly glad that I joined Predictor Testing and got a taste of your sense of humor. I am in total agreement with your assessment on getting involved - most folks here are aiming for better things - something that I think everyone aspires to do.

I am also glad we are in the digital communication age - you moving to South Korea won't be as noticable except for the time it takes you to get back on-line! 20 years ago (I am dating myself here) a move like this would nearly terminate communications between friends and/or coworkers. I for one have enjoyed your quips and quotes (even though you did hijack Jords thread) and look forward to news from your new venue.

Have a safe journey!

I hope you enjoy every minute of it and post some photos for us. I'm quite jealous but am trying not to let it show.

Problems, people. I just got off Skype with Kathryn. The mailman passed by today, but her visa is still not in. So she won't fly out today. :-(

I hope to see some kind of sign soon that she has arrived safely in Korea...Until then...the waiting will continue.

Oh the wait does continue.

Another day, still no visa.

I could scream (but that would really make my head hurt).

I can hear your mind screaming...I know you can't wait for that incredibly long airplane ride to begin.

I finally have good news.

My passport came yesterday. I had changed me mailing address in preparation for moving. On the form, I put effective June 15th. Did the post office pay any attention to that?

Hell no! They forwarded the envelope to the new address.

So I still can't figure out why it took so long as the address I changed to is in the same city. But this is the USPS we're talking about here.

So now I can stop thinking about all the horrible scenarios that were going through my head (it was stolen, it was lost, homeland security held it).
