The expiration date of the GPUGRID project is way too short for an eradication in due time. How long does it take after the expiration Date since the result isn't used anymore? Is there any oportunity that i can change this expiration date by myself in then Bonic application? |

Hi fetzer, this is the BOINC forum. If you have questions about GPUGRID it would be much better to use their forums... ;) -> http://www.gpugrid.net/forum_index.php If the deadline of the GPUGRID tasks is too short for your card, your GPU is too slow! Please have a look at the GPUGRID FAQ for supported cards -> http://www.gpugrid.net/forum_thread.php?id=316. No, you can't edit the deadline of a task, it is set by the project, and because GPUGRID/PS3GRID is all about high performance computing, they won't change their deadline. Also because the tasks are buildt upon earlier crunched tasks it is almost impossible for them to set a longer deadline. They need to get the crunched tasks back as soon as possible to generate new tasks... |

Can someone tell me exactly what the expiration date of a unit of work is, anyhow? And why does it matter? I would think these projects would want anything and everything and not refuse some work just because it was late. Also, what happens if something fails to make this date (has not happened to me)? Are you fined, docked points, sent to the guillotine? (lol) Are you pilloried before the BOINC masses? Just wanting to learn... thx, Data... |

Some projects generate work based on the results of returned work, so they tend to have shorter deadlines. Some projects need data back to analyze for various reasons. Rosetta comes to mind when they compete in CASP. Get the results back to them too late and they're useless. What happens? You may or may not get credit. I believe that yourdaily quota goes down by one for every result you turn in late. Kathryn :o) |

And try the links in Kathryn's :o) signature. At least the first two might be very interesting for all your questions in the various threads. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) |
