Why were all the einstein tasks assigned high priority?

There are 5 days before the deadline and the estimated cpu time is under 5 hours

If I suspend the einstein then all the rosetta switch to high priority and vice-versa.

The reason I complain is because the high priority made "seti enhanced 6.03" stop processing after 26 minutes with only 2 or so minutes left to complete. Normally a job runs for 1 hour.

The actual time it'll take is way higher than the 5 hours it's starting off with.
What are the Duration Correction Factor numbers for those projects?

The priorities have all stabilized since this morning and only seti@home cuda is running at high priority.

BTW, einstein takes just under 6 hours on my Q6700 cpu.

I only know how to get DCF from boincview. Unfortunately, I never got boincview to connect with my vista home 64 system when going thru the dsl gateway. I think BV pings and does not bother to connnect if the ping is not answered in time. That is just a guess as I never got an answer on the BV forum. I can connect easily using BM thru the dsl to my home system, but BV fails under the same conditions. I really wish the BV developer was up and around and that BV could be put in the public domain. It is much more powerful than that boinc-studio.

They are on the Computer summary page for each of your hosts on each project (near the bottom) or in client_state.xml under <duration_correction_factor> (one for each attached project).

Okay, I looked up priority and high priority and didn't find what I was looking for. Simple question, but I am a bit behind the curve on BOINC; I only joined a month and a half ago. Thus...

What is high priority? Does it attach to a project when a certain deadline is reached, a certain # of days before the deadline? Also, I have never seen it on any of my projects except the ones that are running at a given time, and every one so running has "high priority" appended to it.

Would love an explanation... thanks, Data...

Thought of something else:

Is there anything less than high priority? Low, Medium, Medium Rare priority? :p

Seriously, is there a definition for anything like that?

High Priority is BOINC's way of indicating that there is a danger that the result won't be finished by its deadline.

You can find tons of information in the links in my sig.
