Hi All. I'm a newbie here!
Whats the best project to start with?

Hi Steve. Welcome to BOINC.

Here is a list of most (if not all) of the active projects with short summaries.

I think a lot of the decision has to do with where your interests lie. Take a look at the project forums. See what kinds of comments people are making.

I usually recommend that people start out with stable projects like Seti or Rosetta or Einstein. There are a lot of people who hang out in the forums who can answer questions that might come up. Later on, you can jump into the projects that are still in testing phases.

Have fun :)

Hi newbies!

CPDN is also stable, but the workunits are very very big at the moment - they last literally for months - good for people who like a challenge and are prepared to take precautions to protect their climate model from crashing (plenty of help available on that topic).

Hello,

I was just browsing upon the internet when I came across this lively site, and decided to be a part of this community.

Just to say hi to everyone out there.

Regards,
Jan.

You're welcome. And let me know if you successfully get your stats box set up. I see you read my rambling post over at Einstein :)

I have one request, Jan.

Could you please take down the signature link to that webhosting site that you have here? Our rules on the left are loosely followed, but we are having problems with Spammers. When people see your link in your signature, they may think you are one and complain.

So could you take up another signature?

Don't mind Keith and Jord. They're a bit nutty. The nurses have been trying to help them for ages, but they're beyond help.

Keith is so nuts you could make hazelnut pasta out of him.

At least I still regain some moments of normalcy. Usually when I am asleep.

I've just checked my contract...normal isn't mentioned anywhere.
