It was very dark... and if I hadn't trodden in it, someone else would have I'm sure. A method I tried a few years ago on a serial depositor outside my gate, was to attach a "Dear Owner" note to a kebab stick requesting they encourage their dog to c**p there again because its full DNA profile hadn't been successfully isolated from its previous visit.
