Only a handful of work units left here, they will be crunched out before the day is done. One of my machines did gorge on Beta's so I have some of them. The status page indicates one partial tape of MB's left and that stuck AP tape. They will be gone quickly after we come back up. Then it may get a bit cooler as none of the other projects seem to run as warm.

@annie, when you use the dimensional shape shifter on the throat of the mail slot, it isn't too hard to get things to fit. For those that missed the original at Seti, it was in Transportation Safety, but I had a to note for the snow bound, this was yesterday in Southern California, take the Carpool out for a spin. As to safe, well, no seat belts.

Oh, speaking of safety, watching a group of guys looking for a darwin award using a brush chipper across the street. Putting arms into the machine with it running to clear a jam. No eye protection for flying chips. The sign on the truck is John Doe and Sons tree trimmers. Hope Mr. Doe had a lot of sons, because at that rate he is going to lose one soon.

Finally Happy Birthday Celttooth and J. Mileski!

Well, just finished watching the Packers v The Eagles (good game, btw) and now, as Zebedee used to say (apologies for non UK Setizens who don't know who Zebedee is/was ) time for bed ;-)

HB! to Ian and J.

My crunchers are both well stocked with Seti work because they overgorged themselves on Einstein during the last outage. Still, it won't last forever.

FWIW, the Server Status Page shows the backup Boinc database and the two science databases, and the upload and two download servers, running. Everything else is disabled.

Hi Uli :) Night Phil :) Called our Angel fish Zebedee (cos he goes up and down a lot and gets stripy when something surprises him)

[confession] I accidentally won the TLPTP thread at Einstein today... they're in for a shock, bless them :) [/confession]

I let rosetta@home download 34 units to help me through the dry spell. I also found this place. :)

Hello Mark :) It's nice here :) Ageless looks after us very well... gives us brooms and everything :) I accidentally detached from Rosetta a little while back :( some kind of electrical short circuit between my brain and my finger and I can't remember my password... wrote it down somewhere... but I don't know where... I can probably reattach without it, but then that means another password... :/

As long as you still have the same e-mail, you can recover the password.

@Mark. Welcome.

I implicitly trust Eric K to do what is right for the project. He and all of us have come far too far over 15 years to not get it sorted out properly. They are scientists, I am not, they know the way forward more than I could ever do. But it is coming across to many that the future endeavours are not clear. I really really would like to see a 15 year summary report.

  • Where we started
  • where we are now
  • What we have achieved
  • The way forward
  • Plans for the future

But the Seti staff are overwhelmed with work, short staffed , and struggling for financial support. They also do other work apart from seti@home. I trust and believe, always will do, but I would like just a little hand holding along the way now and again :-)

Not just some Seti kit, but the Boinc database, it would seem. Without that no reporting but also no forums.

Feels like Oscar, master database server, has problems.

Database Issues
The BOINC mysql database is currently unresponsive. The project will be offline for the next 24 hours or so. 16 Nov 2014, 19:25:49 UTC

Well, I hate to be right...

Hunker down folks.

They're coming to take me away
Haha, they're coming to take me away
Ho ho, hee hee, ha ha
To the funny farm
Where life is beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see
Those nice young men
In their clean white coats
And they're coming to take me AWAY
HA HAAAA

(Napoleon XIV)

To the disbelief of friends, I bought this when it came out, still have it somewhere. The B side is even more weird ;-)

On my copy the B side is the A side played backwards. No satanic messages however.

First host is out of GPU work, 750Ti is running now Einstein.

CPU only hosts have couple days until WCG gets it's share.
