Hello

I met such strange situation on one of my PCs:

BOINC processes 2 projects with priorities ~ 70% and 30%.
I wanted to continue only low priority project for some time. So firstly I setted "No work from project" for high-priority project and then, when it processed all its WUs in queue, suspended it.
But low priority project (now single runned) dont want to download any new WUs at all!
After only 1 WU remains in queue I was forced to resume high priority project :(.
Is it correct behaviour for BOINC client?
What is salvation in such situation? Do I need to upgrade to 5.13 or what?

Not really sure how the work scheduler works in 4.45, but 5.2.13 is the reccommend version at the moment. It does a good job for me with 17 projects attached.

Yes it is and the best thing to do is leave Boinc alone so it can run as it was designed....

I would leave it alone, but is it designed not to do work at all if it cant run high priority project? I dont think so...

Well, I found some solution - to assign this PC to another "location profile" and to increase priority of desired project for that profile. But there are only 3 profiles - scool/home/work and such approach may require more....
Maybe does more graceful way exist?

BTW, another question: If same PC was assigned to 2 different locations in 2 different projects and both locations have different settings (cache size for example) what settings BOINC will use for options that general to all projects?

BOINC is designed to process more than one project, if you feel the need to micro manage you set your resource to 1000 for the backup and 50 or 100 for your so called high priority project.

Not sure what you mean by locations. The preferences with propagate, if 2 computers are connected to the same project and venue, the preferences for last project that you attach to will be used.

I think you have that backwards Jim. Correct me if I'm wrong tho. Your high priority project should be something like 1000 and the low one 50.

And you can't have more than one venue on the same computer. Some people tried that over at Ralph when they were testing a fix for the leave in memory bug.
