I was wondering if anyone knows why my User Average keeps climbing when I don't open BOINC for a few days. Also, if I run it for fewer hours on particular days, then I would expect that to decrease my average. Can anyone explain this?

Thanks
Doug

Average is a strange word that only the Gods of Boinc understand how to calculate. I have noticed similar behavior. My guess is that Boinc does not update immediately, but only after several days. This would mean that your average could climb from earlier work even if you are not crunching now.

RAC (recent average credit) can still go up. It is updated when credits are granted. Since many projects use some sort of redundancy, there is usually a time gap between reporting work to the server and getting credit. Go to whatever project you crunch for, and you'll be able to see a list of work you've done recently. Some will have the credits pending. When your "wingmen" return the work and it goes through validation, you'll get your credit. RAC will then be updated. It's also a decaying average. Off the top of my head, I don't remember the formula (Jord probably does :-p) and I'm too lazy to search for it.
