Hello,

I'm running Boinc v6.4.5 under Ubuntu Karmic Koala. I have a few questions :

Is it possible to prevent BOINC to start automaticaly at linux startup ?

Why doesn't Boinc stop calculating when I close the BOINC manager with Ctrl+Q ? (not Ctrl+W). (Of course I can kill the pid but it's a bit violent isn't it ?) Can I solve that problem ?

Thank you for this helpful forum !

Hi,

I used the command line "sudo apt-get install boinc-client boinc-manager"

The world would be a much better place if people at least tried a little themselves before asking questions, with a quick google search for: how to stop boinc running ubuntu. I found this:

first link:

second link:
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Stop_or_start_BOINC_daemon_after_boot

you should have your questions answered there.
