Due to bad design Mandriva package maintainer did not manage to compile with the correct platform name. It seems to be hard-coded.

I am now using Mandriva 32bit from http://boincdl.ssl.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_6.4.5_i686-pc-linux-gnu.sh

I have removed the passwords on the RPC thing and I am running the client with -i, --insecure [disable BOINC security users and permissions ] and the Manager is saying connection refused. Is there a problem?

I have been volunteering for years and since I've switched to linux I have never been able to get it right!

Oh one more verbose thing is catalog file for domain 'wxstd' not found.

I already have had enought issues with this such as..
ERROR: ld.so: object 'libjvm.so'
Boinc Manager: connection refused
I also remember having disk space allocation problems in Arch linux before and the list goes on..

At this time of writting, my problem is only with Boinc Manager: connection refused and the 'wxstd' thing whatever that mean. Boinc does not have more friends because of Issues volunteer just often quit as I will unfortunately.

Please help me. Should I Pastbin my logs?
I am willing to do anything for god's sake.
I want to Contribute and continue Volunteering but I will quit and be very disappointed with you otherwise.

What projects are you running/trying to run?

Try following the directions Eric wrote. They should work fine on Mandriva.
