Yes, after all, someone turned on the splitters at 2:30 (and I got 2 MB tasks shortly thereafter :-)

CPDN main project

The server status page shows uploader1.atm as running but Milo is in fact redirecting uploads to this server to a different server. (After the new power supply was installed, other serious problems with uploader1.atm emerged.) The redirect is still being tested. A test upload made a moment ago did not work. If you have HadAM3P files in your Transfers tab please suspend BOINC network activity for the time being. If you have uncompleted and suspended HadAM3P models please do not complete them yet.

We will inform members when it is safe to allow remaining files for these models to upload.

They're down to do a database dump to clean up some issues with their replica database. They should be back up in about an hour.

CPDN main project

Milo says 'I've now got a temporary server running as uploader1.atm.ox.ac.uk. It's not very good hardware and has limited space, so there may be delays in uploading and I will also have to shut it down at some point (probably next week) to move files elsewhere. This machine will be replaced as soon as we receive a new 20TB server.

Thanks again for everyone's patience as these problems are dealt with.'

His temporary replacement for uploader1.atm accepts uploads successfully!

* You can now enable BOINC network activity.

* It should not now be necessary for members to edit or delete their BOINC transfer time limit file. Even if your files first attempted to upload on 3 June, the first day of the recent problems, and have now timed out, BOINC allows one extra upload attempt after the 14-day limit.

* Yesterday while Milo was unsuccessfully trying a server redirect for uploader1.atm, some members lost files with a permanent upload error. We are very sorry about this. If this happened to your files yesterday and you have a backup of the complete contents of the BOINC Data directory made before the model(s) completed, you could restore the backup and run the model(s) to completion again. The final zip files would be generated again.

* The current temporary server replacing uploader1.atm has limited free disk space. We should give priority to members with files already in the Transfers tab waiting to upload. If you have HadAM3P models running, it will still be very helpful if you can suspend them before they complete until Milo has provided more disk space, we hope next week. You will probably need to resume these unfinished models temporarily if you want to download new work from CPDN.

I recommend Secunia PSI: http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/

Looks like Seti@Home bit the dust again. The cricket graph shows it flat-lined about half an hour ago. Let's see if someone over there is still awake to fix it, else we'll have to wait another 9 hours before anyone comes back in.

The server may be mostly up, but there's almost no I/O going on.

Since there were severe database problems earlier, complete with missing posts and threads, they're down again for maintenance.

Upload server phkup21 which is located in Bern, Switzerland, was down for two days but is now fixed. It is hardly used except for storing a small amount of data so Milo thinks that very few people will have been inconvenienced.

However, climateapps2 has gone down this afternoon and Milo is working on it now. This server provides a wide range of services including the CPDN-BOINC forum, account and model web pages and scheduler requests for new models.

If necessary please suspend BOINC network activity at the moment if you can.

A fileserver went down. Techs are on their way to take a look.

None other than those that are shown on http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/:

Einstein@Home is down as the result of a fileserver crash. I am working on repairing
the filesystem now but I do not have an estimate of how long this could take yet.
Further news will be posted here when we know more.

Thank you for your patience.
