12/06/2008 16:53:50|climateprediction.net|You may not get credit for it. Consider aborting it.
12/06/2008 16:53:51|climateprediction.net|Restarting task hadcm3inct_ckw2_1920_160_45867278_2 using hadcm3i version 540

I received this message today.

Do I really have to abort after all this time?
If I start another task, will I get the chance to finish it? The first task I tried crashed, so I don't feel I am helping the cause too much.

No, you don't need to abort. CPDN ignores deadlines as long as the model continues to send in trickles.

And climate models send back data all the way through their processing.

There's lots of info linked from the READMEs on the project, here.
And you can select shorter models, by ticking the appropriate box in the climateprediction.net preferences on your Account page on the cpdn server.
