Increasing the entropy by starting network aktivities may help to get more events at Boincmanager 5.10.40. I run µtorrent, uploading some Linux DVD-Images. I think it would be great if we can set up a Boinc testingserver with dummy workunits/applications on a local network. @James: The QMC application was compiled using an optimizing Intel-Compiler, therefore it works fine on Intel Quadcore, even on Pentium 4 with Hyperthreading. It doesn't need much of the memory bandwidth. You can check the times for the QMC-WU. |

QMC work units are, by far, showing the greatest variance on this quad. Here are four work unit results that show you this variability: Do you work often with large, memory-intensive software while running Boinc? You can try projects with smaller applications, like Spinhenge or SHA-1 Collision Search. |
