Isn't it gratifying when your children care for you so deeply and send you emails and gifts?

My my.. how about sending him a grammar and spell-checker? For Father's Day. Of course.

Would be a matching gift :-)

I've forgot to check this thread since crunching the Valentine's Day chocolate... and haven't laughed that deep for some time already!

Now, let's (or lets' ?) slow this thread down to approach 212th post in a timely manner. (Hmm, why did I remember something like "...at 212 posts and in the year 2010 wins"?)

This was a very slow post...It was weeks in the making.

OK folks.

It's March 14th. It's another famous Asian Hallmark Holiday. Today is White Day. The guys give the gals candy. Now I expect lots and lots of chocolate. And make sure Mo V gets some too. I mean, she's pretty helpful and stuff on CPDN, so she deserves a little something. And we don't want those cheap Hersey Kisses. We want the good stuff. These with the edible 24 caret gold would be nice.

That's very kind of you, Kathryn. There are a lot of people offering a lot of help on a lot of BOINC forums. Since I started crunching in 2003 the quality of advice offered has improved beyond recognition. This is with the support of all the people who've spent long hours compiling and updating documentation for BOINC and projects. So they deserve some candy too. I hope you got some!

What does White Day celebrate?

So did you eventually build BOINC, or was there still something missing?

I think John just eventually lost the reason to tamper with building, didn't he?

There's always something missing from boinc and the scheduler. Must get to a point where some of the thousands of tweaks interfere with each other.

Message 16377 - Posted: 3 Apr 2008, 3:34:42 UTC

I'm getting these BOINC Manager messages:

03/04/2008 01:55:16||Running llama benchmarks
03/04/2008 01:55:16||Suspending computation - running llama benchmarks
03/04/2008 01:55:48||Benchmark results:
03/04/2008 01:55:48|| Number of llamas: 2
03/04/2008 01:55:48|| 2352 floating point MIPS (Whetstone) per llama
03/04/2008 01:55:48|| 5325 integer MIPS (Dhrystone) per llama
03/04/2008 01:55:49||Resuming computation

There's also a song that's been running continuously on this computer for over 24 hours and I cannot find a button on the song page to turn it off. The song was highly recommended by Kathryn so I thought it would be safe. What should I do?

Listen to the llama song a few thousand more times. The answer is in there.

Do what everyone else does when they can't fix a simple thing: reformat and reinstall Windows.
