I have a smartphone, a Kindle Fire and a laptop. I run Boinc on my laptop for Seti@home, Universe@home, Asteroids@home & Milkyway@home. I would like to add Boinc to my Kindle Fire when it is idle, such as when I'm at work. However, if it can be done, I'm worried that it might use up all of my available memory or slow everything else up.
Can you please let me know if this is possible, what to expect, and how to do it?
Can each of the projects I listed above handle using a Kindle Fire? I listed my projects to make sure that each is not so big as to rule out using a Kindle Fire.
Thanks!

The Kindle Fire is just an Android tablet, you should be able to run BOINC like you would on any other Android device; however you will have to "jailbreak" it because BOINC is not available in the limited app store on the Amazon devices. Depending on what version of the device you have, you may also have to upgrade the Android OS version since the original only shipped with Android 2, and you will need 4.1 or higher to run BOINC.

Please check

Actually, unless they disabled it, you can 'sideload' the latest BOINC version. However, the version in the app store is the same version # as the latest Droid version anyways...

What you can't do is (easily) sideload Play store and related services. Amazon blocks that but their own app store is 85%-90% crap apps despite marketing claims of a superior app store...
