Something is BROKEN AGAIN overnight here (last 12 to 14 hours)... Clicked THIS forums title (with the yellow paper icon to left) indicating new messages in here - instead of going to FIRST NEW MESSAGE (Message 74260 - Posted: 21 Nov 2016, 7:34:27 UTC) it went to FIRST MESSAGE in topic. Link that shows in browser (Chrome): https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=11137#74260 |

Something is BROKEN AGAIN overnight here (last 12 to 14 hours)... I got that too. I figured the cookies must have been eaten. EDIT: Looks like ti is jumping to the first message after making a new post as well. |

The old GUI was OK, it had a couple of flaws, such as not restricting the size of images to "something sensible". The new GUI is very poor, its default setting place the emphasis on the wrong items, such as quoted text being far more prominent than the response, area for the names and avatars is too wide, and not consistently delineated from the message body (it would appear that only Jord has the privilege of having an acceptable in the way of delineation between this area and his posts - lucky Jord!). Apart from the "fairly sensible" restrictions on picture sizing I certainly wouldn't like to see this incarnation on a small phone screen. |

Can confim it is also happeing (going to first msg in thread vs fist new) in Internet Exporer and Mozilla Firefox also. EDIT >> And after posting goes to first messsage in current "page". Looking at Cookie values in Internet Explore, Chrome and Firefox on my PC - they expire exactly 12 months from most recent browser login. |

I must be lucky, then... I'm now on FF 50 and Cookies are still working for me. Clicked on the Link to this Thread, and was taken to the last post I read. I'll keep monitoring and see if this changes. TL [EDIT:] Can confirm that the Blue-Gray underline when hovering over the Post Reply button is gone. So, that's one problem fixed. :-) Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos Pluto is still a planet |

Well, I just got news in. You think it's bad to see this on Seti Beta? Earlier I asked David to test with an image as background to fill up the empty space on the front page. He will go do that... and when that works... add bootstrap to Main. I do hope that by then most of the bugs have been ironed out. I also hope it works with the navbars at Seti, as as far as I know, these are custom made and not native to the BOINC code. It's going to be interesting times. |

erm... is anyone else noticing that if you follow a link back to a message a post is replying to, you get taken to the most recent message on the page? Because that's what I'm suddenly noticing. It comes in beautifully aligned though :) if that's any consolation...? edit: which has already been commented on... so all I've actually added to the conversation is that I noticed it :/ |

Jumping to last unread post is now fixed. Going to post 'in response to message N' is also fixed. |

Thank you :) And it still loads nicely too! |

By the way, this wasn't a cookie problem as one couldn't jump to a post from the 'in response to message N' when not logged in on browsers (like Internet Explorer) as well. When you're not logged in, you don't get a cookie. |

The "thread read" status is obviously held server side as one can skip between computers and the status remains the same. (And I second Chris's assertion about Angela's cookies being in a class of their own) |

Hmm, SETI Beta i certainly more colourful than of old... The new color scheme reminded me of how the Classic SETI@home site looked. The only issue I have is with the green text when used with the blue background when reading messages. It isn't a a great contrast in that situation. It may also be an issue for users with that have blue/green color vision issues. |

Anybody else notice that some lines in certain posts do not wrap properly and one has to scroll right to see all of them? Meow? |

Anybody else notice that some lines in certain posts do not wrap properly and one has to scroll right to see all of them? Everything seems to be wrapping correctly for me. Currently I'm at 1920x1080. |

The green is really [throws up in corner]. Colour contrast against the blue is very poor - I'm just thankful that they didn't choose a red against that green.... Someone should look at the guidance about selecting colours for those with colour vision impairment... |

One positive comment: I do find that the 'green-on-dark-grey' does make links embedded in message board answers stand out much more clearly - like my Beta message 60165 - than the light-blue-on-white used here. I sometimes wonder whether people notice my smaller links at all. SETI Beta does have a particular problem with green-on-blue for user names because, by definition, everybody who posts there is a 'special person' - we're all volunteer testers. But there should be consistency whether links are underlined or not, and that sort order dropdown list is gross. |

I wondered what everyone was talking about a "blue background" If you go into Account - community preferences Under "Message Display" untick "Highlight Special Users" And the blue background will go away. I never have the special uses ticked so I didn't see it. I can't post there as I do not have any RAC. |
