Running Windows 10. Have had BOINC on in the past, but due to a crash, was forced to reload computer.

Have downloaded fresh installation to run. Installation extracts BOINC.MSI, but cannot us it when it is necessary during the installation. I have tried pointing to it using browse, but still unable to complete installation. I have tried with and without "Virtual Box"

Have noticed previous install still in "programs and features", but unable to uninstall because it can't find THAT "msi" file. version is 7.0.64 installed on 6/13/2013.

Would that be the reason it won't install a new version? If so, how do I get rid of it?

Attempting Registry edit to remove all references to "BOINC" from system, then will re-attempt installation of latest version.

Locate manually where old BOINC program folder is and delete it.
Download CCleaner Free: https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download
Run CCleaner and clean registry.
Restart computer.
Run the installer of the BOINC (new version) as administrator.
