I've been running BOINC and participating in Seti@home & Milkyway@home for so long I can't remember when I started. I was running it when it was only Seti@home. Today, I noticed that there were notices from BOINC, so I clicked on it to open it up, but then it disappeared, and the icon disappeared from my "Hidden Icon" list. I saw that BOINC was still installed, but when I tried to open it, I got a DOS-like pop-up window with something about "no defaults". I then uninstalled and reinstalled BOINC, but when I tried to login, BOINC no longer recognizes me or my e-mail address. I therefore had to create a new account. I've used my same e-mail address for decades. I don't remember my long account key, and now I can't access it. Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions about how to merge my old account with my new one? Also, my Milkway@home & Seti@home are "suspended". I hope I didn't lose all my stats! Ugh!

Did you try logging into one of the project websites to make sure you have the right password? You should be able to recover it from there if that's the issue. What is the actual status or message shown in BOINC Manager? It also helps if you tell us whether you're using the simple (shows some graphics) or "advanced" (mostly text) view.

This forum is independent of the projects, so if you have to create an account to log in here, it doesn't mean anything is lost at the projects. You'll have to try logging in there.
