Seti@Home is out of work. They only have occasional resends. Best add another project that does have work. There are enough to choose from: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/projects.php

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Boinccmd_tool for all the commands you can give the tool. I'd say to start with get_state, get_tasks and get_project_status

And if you started the boinc binary with the --redirectio attribute, that you check the contents of stdoutdae.txt for the lines of the event log.

i found the stdoutdae.txt
at the end it say it got a wrong code i shoud remove and readd the project

so i will detach it like
boinccmd --project http://www.climateprediction.net detach

but this give a error
Error -155: authentication error

the error i found
26-Nov-2014 02:08:01 [climateprediction.net] You used the wrong URL for this project. When convenient, remove this project, then add http://climateprediction.net/

26-Nov-2014 02:08:01 [climateprediction.net] Invalid or missing account key. To fix, remove and add this project .

wenn i added i had at the end of the URL a / could this be the problem?

Message 58208 - Posted: 26 Nov 2014, 16:42:59 UTC - in response to Message 58201.

It says you have the wrong URL due to you using WWW in front of the address. CPDN resides at http://climateprediction.net/ not at http://www.climateprediction.net/

As to all the rest of the stuff not working, it's difficult to diagnose without messages. I can't see what happens on an output of get_tasks or get_project_status, other than that you don't have any tasks or applications.

Perhaps that you have a firewall blocking BOINC (boinc binary needs internet access on TCP ports 80 and 443) or other things happening. The constant returning authentication error doesn't bode well either. Looks like you or BOINC don't have permission to be in that directory, write to disk, etcetera.

So let's start from the very beginning, and give basic information, such as BOINC version, operating system, etc.

You're not doing it from directory that contains the client, Because of that you're got to supply the password to access that directory and you're not doing that:

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Boinccmd_tool
The usage of boinccmd is:

boinccmd [--host hostname] [--passwd passwd] command

If you run boinccmd in the same directory as the BOINC client, you don't need to supply either a host name or a password.

Otherwise you need to supply (as password) the string stored in the file gui_rpc_auth.cfg in the client's data directory. If you run boinccmd remotely you also need to configure the client to accept remote control.

hostname can be a domain name, an IPv4 address, or an IPv6 address. If the client uses a non-default GUI RPC port, you can specify it as hostname:port, IPv4_addr:port, or [IPv6_addr]:port.

If you use the bash shell, you may find this command completion script useful.

So try:

boinccmd --passwd passwd --project http://climateprediction.net detach

I tried it on my Raspberry Pi running Boinc 7.0.27 and it worked without needing to change directories or entering the gui_rpc_auth.cfg password (my gui_rpc_auth.cfg is supplied empty):

pi@raspberrypi ~ $ boinccmd --project_attach http://climateprediction.net my_account_key
pi@raspberrypi ~ $ boinccmd --project http://climateprediction.net detach

and Boinc successfully atttaches and detaches:

Trying to attach from the /var/lib/boinc-client directory without a password didn't work (not surprising as the client isn't this directory):

pi@raspberrypi /var/lib/boinc-client $ boinccmd --project_attach http://climateprediction.net my_account_key
Error -155: authentication error

I think the Wiki is a bit misleading about the client, probably left over from v5 days. On Windows, boinccmd tries to change current directory to the data directory before reading gui_rpc_auth.cfg. On other systems boinccmd doesn't try to change directory and just reads the file from current directory. In either case it doesn't matter where BOINC program files are.

Now, I'm guessing the reason why the example above didn't work for you is that you haven't added your account to boinc group.

pi@raspberrypi /var/lib/boinc-client $ ls -l gui_rpc_auth.cfg /etc/boinc-client/gui_rpc_auth.cfg
-rw-r----- 1 root boinc 1 touko 25 2012 /etc/boinc-client/gui_rpc_auth.cfg
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root  34 marra 27 18:42 gui_rpc_auth.cfg -> /etc/boinc-client/gui_rpc_auth.cfg

So boinccmd tries to read gui_rpc_auth.cfg file but can't because it doesn't have permissions and because of that it tries to talk to the client without password.

In your case, you're got to use your account key, i wasn't going to actually post mine.

i use URL Email pwd

You can't use Email and pwd for that command, the usage says account key, read the wiki:

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Boinccmd_tool
--project_attach URL account_key
Attach to an account
