Ubuntu's package library only contains a 6.2 (prerelease) version of BOINC. I downloaded and tried to install the V6.4.5 (64 bit) package. The installation seemed to go well except that, on startup, Ubuntu still loads the old BOINC version. When I did a file search for "BOINC" I saw many BOINC files and folders scattered throughout my filesystem.

How do I run the V6.4.5 package so that it will start on each Ubuntu system start?

Thanks in advance.

The best way is to run down all the work on your system and then uninstall using the package manager.

Then you can install BOINC however you'd like. Post back if you need help doing this.
