All threads older than 50 days are showing up as having new posts, and if I open any of those threads all of the posts are marked as new.

Edit: Not quite true. There are a couple of older threads (58 and 60 days) in the 'API' forum that aren't marked with new posts and a couple or newer threads (40 and 41 days) in the 'BOINC Manager' forum that are.

Everything here looks 'read' to me. Did a cookie reset?

The only cookies I have for boinc.berkely.edu/dev are the 'PHPSESSID' and 'auth' ones used on all BOINC message boards. They look to be fine (auth doesn't expire until 11th September 2008).

The unread thread marking was fine yesterday.

It's happening to me as well. This is the second time.
It only seems to be the stickies in the BOINC Manager section.

It could be a problem with the hidden Q&A thread. That thread got broken when David removed the account of one person who had posted in it. For a long while we (Kathryn and I) saw it as a new thread, no matter how many times we looked at it.

Perhaps that it's jinxing things for you all.

Edit: I'll unhide it for the moment.

Message 14059 - Posted: 24 Nov 2007, 1:23:42 UTC - in response to Message 14055.

The last message (November 6, from Pepo) in the Q&A thread was marked as unread, along with all of the threads in The Lounge older than 50 days. I haven't opened any of them to see how many posts are marked unread.

FWIW, these forums were all right for me. But the ones over at BOINC Alpha reverted to having all of the threads marked as unread.

Is someone calling me? ;-)

There would be nothing bad on marking all older threads unread. BUT...
I do not get notifications for older threads - just noticed on The Lounge : The Adventures of a New Linux User, which was resurrected by Kathryn after some 120 days. The thread was probably also marked for me as unread few days ago, so no need to send any newer notification.

Just saw this over at IMP. Cori just posted to a thread and now the whole thing is marked as unread all the way back to the original post on August 1st.

I'll find out what server revision Nicolas is running.

But whatever triggers this, it seems to be related to something new being posted in a thread.
