I am running 6.10.18 on all of my computers. I do run the BOINC screen saver.

In 6.10.18 there is now a really nice thing that comes up beyond the projects' screen savers. It is the BOINC sun, nice and big on the monitor, and then the different projects are reported, what one is running, the current state of each work unit.

Is there a way to run just the last described as a BOINC screen saver?

Thanks,

Hey Sek-

Right now, I do see the normal screen savers, from individual WCG projects, other BOINC projects I am running, Einstein, Rosetta, etc.

But, then, what often comes up on the monitor is just the BOINC sun icon, seemingly then overlaid with a changing image which can be just a text about a single project, telling me my total credits, etc, and also can be a sort of listing of several of the running projects with a "thermometer" showing their progress.

I see this on the two Core 2 Duo machines and the I7 machine.

I am going to try to upload an image via imageshack

O.K., I see it. Sorry if it looks gigantic. But you can see what I mean.

RSM,

The option for showing only the BOINC screen saver is already built into the latest BOINC versions (since 6.10.25). Please, go to the properties of the Windows desktop->screen saver->Select BOINC as screen saver and go to its details (or preferences, configuration?).

You'll end up in this screen saver config screen:

Set the "Run application screensaver for" to Never.

That will only run the screen saver as the BOINC screen saver, it won't be cut in by the project screen savers.

But, as said, it has only been available this easily since 6.10.25. Any version 6.10 before that can also do it by making an XML file someplace, with unknown entries. Best avoid the manual editing...

Thanks so much, and again, regrets on the monstrous picture.

Do you know, is 6.10.25 stable? It is not listed in BOINC's listing of versions.

It's as stable as an alpha/development version can be. Any version after it has it as well, so you can download the latest from http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php
