My background is in accounting, but I've been playing poker for a living recently. Not too long ago, I moved to the western side of the US and I love getting into the mountains to hike and camp. I'm in to sci-fi, breadmaking, Spanish, and all kinds of learning.
I'm having a great time learning how to use BOINC effectively, as well as Gridcoin. I've never done anything very technical on a computer, but this has been great! I love the idea of distributed computing for science.
Your opinions about BOINC message boards
I loved the q&a with David Anderson on the BOINC Wiki (https://boinc.mundayweb.com/wiki/index.php?title=David_Anderson). I think it would be great if this came true one day: "Create a centralized mechanism for allocating computing power, rather than the "project ecosystem" model. The problem ... is that a new project cannot be guaranteed any computing power at all, so creating a new project is too big a risk for scientists."
