I have started a grass-roots project to use BOINC on damaged computers with good CPU's that would normally be sent to the dump or be recycled. This concept breathes new life into these crippled machines and allows them to perform useful work for the good of science.
Suggestion: Since the crippled machines have no other function, I would like to see BOINC enabled to run tasks at other priorities rather than "low". BOINC is set up to use "spare" CPU time on working machines rather than machines that have no purpose due to damaged user interfaces. |
