Your personal background. |
Born 1948; MS in chemistry from Ohio State University; disabled now, but a former process development engineer with General Electric Co., Corporate Research and Development; the last four years of employment I was a Health Physicist with the state in which I reside. My hobby is computing. I used to build my own desktop computers, but they were all destroyed in a fire, and building computers is no longer feasible. |
Your opinions about BOINC message boards |
I formerly ran seti@home, then folding@home. Now I'm interested in cosmology and astrophysics, so I run cosmology@home, milkyway@home and Einstein@home. I get a sense of satisfaction knowing that I am making a contribution to science. I also like making my (remaining) computer available for the purpose for which it was made. It would seem like a waste to me if it was sitting on a shelf, staying cold and getting old. |
