I am a 73 years old Retired Justice of the Piece. I joined BOINC at the start with Seti_Classic in order to help the Scientific Research in particular in discovering cures for illnesses as many of my friends and relatives died of cancer. I have joined all or most BOINC Projects because I trusted BOINC even though some projects were clearly questionable. My user name on BOINC Projects is Cruncher Pete. When here is a need to voice purely my own views, I use my real name Peter Shane so as not to involve any of my own team mates for they might have their own views.
My only goal is to have a software that is dedicated to help Scientific Research. I am aware of Caviet Emptor that is buyer beware or in other words in this case I am responsible to who I allow into my computer. Since it is based on trust I hope that BOINC in time can develop into a Community Based System where there is Transparency and opennes and somebody create a software that is purely used for Scientific Research and is not provided for any individual for commercial gain or to hidden Groups such as a Terrorist Organisation. |
