I am on the Old Weather team. We transcribe weather data from ship's logbooks to help climate scientists. Old Weather is a Zooniverse project.
We started with Royal Navy logs from World War I.
We are now doing U.S. Navy and Coast Guard logbooks from the 1800's to WWII (https://www.oldweather.org) and whaling ship logs (https://whaling.oldweather.org)
