Your personal background.
When I find my code in tons of trouble,
Friends and colleagues come to me,
Speaking words of wisdom:
"Write in C."

As the deadline fast approaches,
And bugs are all that I can see,
Somewhere, someone whispers"
"Write in C."

Your opinions about BOINC message boards
+ The idea is very good, not unique and not the first one, but still good

+ Some very interesting projects out there

+ 4.19 was a fine piece of software, simple enough and transparent, just like a DC platform should be

(+) at least a few good ideas of users make it into the source - often 5 years later though

- More BOINC versions than windows patches

- The new client side scheduler is a piece of crap, not better than the old one

- BOINC takes too much influence away from the user, this gets worse with every new release

- There should be an optional ZIP delivery for manual installation

- Most projects don't like 4.19 anymore

- Captchas are crappy if not done well (BOINC is a good example)

- Whoever invented Long Term Debits should have his head dunked into dog doo once the day. It simply makes no sense to tell the scheduler (positive STD) that a project has to crunch, but tell the cache manager, it shouldn't download anything (negative LTD).

Overall BOINC is becoming microsoftisher from year to year :-(
