Your personal background. |
I'm a 60 year old disabled current resident of south central Nebraska. I was born and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area where I became interested in computing in the 1970's and met some people involved in the birth of the personal computing industry that worked at Hewlett-Packard, Osbourne, Apple, Novell and other companies. At one point, I even worked at Oracle supporting their sales staff. After the Loma Prieta earthquake of 1989, I headed east, learned more about hardware and software and was later employed at National Data Corp in Atlanta, then was a contractor at MCI, GE Capital, Digital Equipment Corp and IBM. I became an employee of IBM Global Services, doing technical support at Lucent Technology sites and IBM's site outside Boulder, CO. I wanted a break from the tech industry and became an OTR trucker so I could travel across the USA. Spread throughout my working years, I've worked in the wholesale distribution, healthcare and other industries. |
