I will consult the project forums and report my error. In fact over the last hour I just noticed the "Application" column in BOINC task manager showing the failures under the "camb_boinc2docker 2.05 (vbox64_mt)" but I'm now succesfully running C@H project tasks with "camb_legacy 2.17" which I'll also report to the project.

Just got a new PC (Intel i7-8700K, Corsiar H110i liquid CPU cooler, NVIDIA 1080 GPU) last week and have been toying around with stress tests and benchmarks to make sure everything's behaving correctly. Prime95 (with AVX enabled) returns errors after only a few minutes, which alarms me, although according to forums this seems to be occurring widely with this CPU and AVX enabled. Other benchmarks and apps work fine, except for this error in BOINC. So I am not sure if I should be A) concerned with my hardware, or if this error I am seeing in BOINC is a B) configuration issue or a C) project specific issue. Here's some info, glad for any advice. BOINC 7.8.3 x64, VBOX 5.1.26, Win10 home x64. Running Cosmology@Home and WorldCommunityGrid. Problem: All the C@H workers try to start and then fail, with this note in the Status field of BOINC Advanced viewer: "Computation Error (12 CPUs)." Also important to note that WCG seems to run fine, it completed a few worker tasks then tried C@H tasks again and goes into the "Computation Error" thing again trying different tasks. I have restarted the PC a couple times, exited BOINC, stopped computing, all a few times to no avail. BOINC as a service? I have no idea. Didn't do anything special except download and install. Background. This BOINC event log captures the succesful completion of a few WCG tasks and another unsuccessful start of the C@H work (CPU VM extensions disabled?). Also I'm trying to post screenshots of the BOINC task manager (long list so I segmented it, but all snips are from the same moment) and the VBOX with errors highlighted (I can't interpret this, but wonder if C@H isn't working with VBOX correctly?) - will update this thread when I can upload the image (I'm not experienced with posting...).
