1) Message boards : BOINC client : Internet request on dial-up (Message 3424) Posted 10 Mar 2006 by Ed Moore Post: The programmers for BOINC need to recognize that an internet connection request does not happen instantly on a dial-up service. BOINC at my location spends a lot of time spinning its wheels by requesting hookup and then giving up before a connection is established over...and over...and over, etc. Allow a few seconds (perhaps as much as 5 or even 10) to allow the connection to be established.
