I live in France now but all the time that I lived in the UK, which is most of my adult life as I am British I had to pay a Tax, a TV Tax, therefore it is not your *Tax*? I now have successfully moved to france and pay more tax than you can possibly imagine, but still no TV tax! Can I join your team? |

thank you, I have sent my rant to the BBC, but on another note this is one of the only notice boards that i could find that is 'BBC Climate Change Experiment', not BOINC, not Technincal exchange of views but 'BBC Climate Change Experiment', sorry if I got the wrong notice board but you can see how I got mixed up. And this notice board is linked directly from the BBC Website so where else do you propose that I send my suggestions (at first glance) for the BBC? "To give a stuff is to care and to care is to rant" |

thank you for you prompt reply; here is why Cam is getting upset, please excuse me if you know of or have been at any time a Director of the BBC and can i please use some of your wording, I feel you put my "actual point" rather well; "a problem which could lead to a massive change in world climate within the lifetime of many alive today" so if this problem is so potentially devestating where is the appropriate response from the BBC? Hourly Bulletin's on news 24, BBC World Service perhaps? On no thats right just a small handfull of well timed TV shows for younger kids (new users), I would have liked to see something Global to a Global threat? Silly me, Ca |

Is this Whole Climate experiment a big joke? Because if it is then I think it is not to my taste! Why are the BBC getting involved, why is anyone getting involved? I have been tracking the number of hosts which are Active and are currently submitting data and here are the current totals; 140 Countries 60,372 Hosts 5,575,403,212 Total 60,000 plus hosts thats not alot really don't you think, if the BBC wants to do something to truly justify the cost of it's TV Tax why doesn't it assign a BOD for a week to collect website addresses and Email Addresses to which someone from the BBC can send out an appeal letter to get this *experiment* either linked to or featured on their site? The reason I fear is this, that nobody except a very small number of individuals cares and the BBC is simply profitting on a publicity stunt? Why don't you give people a usable guide to using ThreadMaster or whatever its called and then tell people that it is not recommended that they use this on a laptop, the reason is because you want to take minimum risk at maximum publicity? Good idea but it needs action not words, publicity is something I would have thought the BBC was good at, perhaps the BBC can get some artists impressions of what Global Warming would look like and then spread these around via email (instead of simply trying to boost its TV ratings?), but perhaps cartoons of global warming may upset the Environmental campaigners/Repulican party or whatever it is called in the USA? To help you all out a bit I have started your search for you, if you need someone to write the blanket email I would be glad to help! http://bbc.cpdn.org/usermap.php?map_type=active http://www.rec.org/REC/Databases/EnviroDirectory/EnviroDirectoryFind.html http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=environment+websites&spell=1 http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=environment+org http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=environment+media http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=global+warming I wish you all the best of luck in this experiment and i do not wish to be rude, I think this is an excellent idea but you should take a tip from the business world, it is not the brightest design of mouse trap that make successful companies, it is the most well marketed mouse traps. |
