1) Message boards : Projects : Supercomputer with Idle Time (Message 81359) Posted 18 Sep 2017 by kaypro2 Post: Hello all, First, I apologize if this belongs in the "ideas" section as that seems to be more related to ideas concerning publicity. I recently witnessed a demonstration of my university's supercomputer. They said it remains idle about 20 percent of the time. I thought to myself, "BOINC..." Actually, I said something too, which they seemed resistant to. But if you guys are able to sell them on it, then from the sound of things (I'm not tech savvy by any means) this thing is capable of boosting your output exponentially. It sounds as though this machine can run ordinary Windows-based software as well, so it may not involve any extra resources in terms of programming.
