3.5 days from when? From about half an hour after the time stamp on my post assuming all goes to plan. Nothing from Andy saying otherwise though he has sorted out another one or two issues on the testing site. Thanks. So that would be around April 1st midnight UTC, which is about 13 hours from now. |

This is awesome! Using it now and it works great with BOINCtasks! Thanks! The only problem is getting the password to work. I turned password off and all is good. |

Message 103134 Posted 23 Feb 2021 by zombie67 |
Update: The M1 took 3 hours and 53 minutes per task, running 8 at a time. For comparison, I started 8 tasks on my iMac with a i7-4790K (4c/8t), and they are still running. It looks like those will take about 12 hours. |

Thanks for the heads up! My M1 Mac mini is running 8 tasks now. FWIW, it seems to be running a wuprop task properly too. |

Are there any projects that have actually produced native apps for the M1? I have one now and would be happy to help develop either BOINC or apps. |

Right. In the past the project took a % cut of each campaign, to fund their overhead. Now they separated the overhead support, from the campaign support completely. Crunch for a campaign 100%, and/or crunch for the overhead. Completely your choice. Nothing nefarious here, and more controllable by the volunteers. If you agree, it would be nice to have the subject of this thread changed to something more accurate and less misleading. |

I am having the same problem with the linux x64 7.2.39 version. Can't attach to yoyo. Is there a work around for that? https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/55884901/choose.png https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/55884901/result.png https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/55884901/event2.png |
13) Message boards : BOINC client : Not requesting tasks: some task is suspended via Manager
Message 48678 Posted 19 Apr 2013 by zombie67 |
Ugh. That may be an okay thing when attached to multiple projects. Other projects can still send tasks. But for MT projects like BURP/renderfarm/yafu/milkyway/SimOne/etc, it really does not work to be attached to multiple projects. You end up with many idle threads while BOINC winds down all the single thread tasks, when it is time to switch to a MT task. This is especially a problem when some of the single thread tasks are the kind that do not checkpoint, so the continue to run to completions (as they should). So if you are running, say, BURP and RNA, you can end up in a situation where a single RNA task will run for a month, while the other 7 threads sit idle because a MT task is up next. That is a long way to say when running MT applications, they really need to be run without running other projects as back-ups. An in that case, if you suspend a task, you should be able to get more work from that same project. |

Message 48676 Posted 19 Apr 2013 by zombie67 |
I have a BURP task suspended, because I think it's defective, and I'm waiting for the admin to confirm if I should abort. So now BOINC is idle, because when it asks for more tasks, it returns with: Not requesting tasks: some task is suspended via Manager Since when does a suspended task prevent getting new tasks? Is this something new? Surely this is not intentional by the developers.... This is with 7.0.62. |

The admin at that project had the solution (even though it had nothing to do with his project). That machine has invalid global prefs - unclosed xml tag. (from wcg@home, poem@hme or sat@home) |

I have just one machine our of several, that cannot get work. All the same, win7 64, same version of BOINC, etc. This is an error I have never seen before. I can't even tell if this a server error or client error. Message 45177 Posted 7 Aug 2012 by zombie67 |
At least one project is trying to write an app for this now. How is the BOINC development coming along, to "see" the GPU inside the CPU? I don't recall seeing it identified in the start up messages, like with the other GPUs and CPUs. |

http://yafu.dyndns.org/yafu/forum_thread.php?id=106 Has this been brought up before? Is there a solution (other than running the MT tasks in a VM)? |

Message 44576 Posted 21 Jun 2012 by zombie67 |
OK, when Ivy Bridge is on the market, development will get one for one of their systems and start implementing OpenCL support for Intel GPUs. Possibly that Sandy Bridge (HD2000/HD3000) graphics are supported then as well. So here we are with IB on the market. How is the development coming along? |
