1) Message boards : Projects : Climate@Home email system is broken
Message 52458 Posted 9 Feb 2014 by Nikolay A. Saharov |
Thank you, idahofisherman, you are right: can't restore password -> can't log in -> can't post in the forums about email system problems -> can't restore password... I was hoping that someone who already is in the project will inform the project administration about that problem. It seems that an account cannot be deleted, so I did not want to create an additional account. |

3) Message boards : Questions and problems : Problem with BOINC on Win server 2008 64 bits since update
Message 36601 Posted 26 Jan 2011 by Nikolay A. Saharov |
The possible cause of the problem with error 0xc0000135 is the file permissions. boinc_project account under which BOINC apps works hasn't read access to windows\system32 directory and couldn't find all needed system dlls. I had such error with Collatz and WUProp@Home projects. WUProp couldn't find WS2_32.dll, and Collatz couldn't find nvcuda.dll. I added boinc_project to Users local group and all works now. |

6) Message boards : BOINC client : "The BOINC service terminated unexpectedly"
Message 3878 Posted 14 Apr 2006 by Nikolay A. Saharov |
"The BOINC service terminated unexpectedly" - ыometimes I have received this message in System Events of my computer. There is a text from this event:
The logs at this time when the error occurs are: from stdoutdae.txt:
and from stderrdae.txt:
My config: OS: WinXP SP2 Pro PC: PIV-2.6GHz HT 2CPUs, RAM 3Gb, ATI Radeon 9600 Series Video with 128Mb BOINC 5.3.31 with 17 projects (S@H, S@H Beta, Ralph, SZDG, Malaria, Rosetta, SIMAP, Leiden, BURP, CPDN, Einstein, LHC, Predictor and a few others) Someone has the same problems? |

Try to switch to Local System Account in services manager (BOINC Service Properties/Log On). |
8) Message boards : BOINC Manager : PLEASE release 4.46 and fix the "no new work" stuff
Message 652 Posted 2 Oct 2005 by Nikolay A. Saharov |
... I have a bug with "Network activity suspended" option. When I suspend network activity for BOINC, it still send requests to project servers (only up/downloads are suspended). When I select "Network activity based on preferences" and set a time i.e. from 1:00 to 7:00 this option is worked. But when I select "Network always available" or "Network activity suspended", BOINC continue uses these preference option values. Only when I again reset preferences to zero values, BOINC uses "always available" and "suspended" options. |
9) Message boards : Web interfaces : Wish: Pages for big threads
Message 599 Posted 28 Sep 2005 by Nikolay A. Saharov |
I think this will be a very useful feature for us with dialup because a big threads are downloaded very slow. And of course for all others. Yes, of course, I know about this :). But when in a thread there are 60+ posts, hmmm.... Well, in next 2 or 3 weeks I think this feature will not be actual for me because I will connect to a city network which is lower in cost. ;) |

11) Message boards : BOINC client : BOINC CC doesn't use delay requests from scheduler replies
Message 268 Posted 10 Sep 2005 by Nikolay A. Saharov |
BURP is down for maintenance now. When BOINC sends requests to BURP server it receives replies with no work and tries next time with usual period: 09/10/05 19:15:21|BURP|Sending scheduler request to http://burp.boinc.dk/burp_cgi/cgi 09/10/05 19:15:21|BURP|Reason: Requested by user 09/10/05 19:15:21|BURP|Requesting 172800 seconds of work, returning 0 results 09/10/05 19:15:30|BURP|Scheduler request to http://burp.boinc.dk/burp_cgi/cgi succeeded 09/10/05 19:15:30|BURP|Message from server: Project is temporarily shut down for maintenance 09/10/05 19:15:30|BURP|Project is down 09/10/05 19:15:31|BURP|Deferring communication with project for 58 seconds 09/10/05 19:16:31|BURP|Sending scheduler request to http://burp.boinc.dk/burp_cgi/cgi 09/10/05 19:16:31|BURP|Reason: Requested by user 09/10/05 19:16:31|BURP|Requesting 172800 seconds of work, returning 0 results 09/10/05 19:16:42|BURP|Scheduler request to http://burp.boinc.dk/burp_cgi/cgi succeeded 09/10/05 19:16:42|BURP|Message from server: Project is temporarily shut down for maintenance 09/10/05 19:16:42|BURP|Project is down 09/10/05 19:16:43|BURP|Deferring communication with project for 58 seconds 09/10/05 19:17:43|BURP|Sending scheduler request to http://burp.boinc.dk/burp_cgi/cgi and so on. 12) Message boards : BOINC client : WU download problem / Bug
Message 261 Posted 10 Sep 2005 by Nikolay A. Saharov |
I had this bug sometimes with BOINC 4.72. |
13) Message boards : BOINC Manager : disconnected
Message 137 Posted 4 Sep 2005 by Nikolay A. Saharov |
I also have some problem sometimes. You can try restart BOINC Manager or open a dialog from File/Select Computer... menu item, select empty host name and press OK button. These works for me. |
14) Message boards : BOINC Manager : Language change in BOINC Manager 4.72
Message 120 Posted 3 Sep 2005 by Nikolay A. Saharov |
I tested it with Russian and English. All others are some. Problem is here in MainFrame.cpp source file: void CMainFrame::OnToolsOptions(wxCommandEvent& WXUNUSED(event)){ ... if (m_iSelectedLanguage != pDlg->m_LanguageSelectionCtrl->GetSelection()) { ShowAlert( _("The BOINC Managers default language has been changed, in order for this change to take affect you must restart the manager."), _("Language Selection..."), wxICON_INFORMATION ); } ... } The first param of the function is a title of message, and second one is a message. Should be: if (m_iSelectedLanguage != pDlg->m_LanguageSelectionCtrl->GetSelection()) { ShowAlert( _("Language Selection..."), _("The BOINC Managers default language has been changed, in order for this change to take affect you must restart the manager."), wxICON_INFORMATION ); } |

Message 83 Posted 1 Sep 2005 by Nikolay A. Saharov |
When you select another language in Options dialog, it seems that in message box that is pops up after that, caption and message text are messed. BOINC 4.72 |
