Give your head a shake.

I just had the phone sitting there plugged in with wifi and data on for over 3 hrs and it barely managed to do anything.. maybe 5% or so.

I'm uninstalling.. boinc for Android is useless. It's a shame. It could crunch all night, every night, while it's charging.

Well, I've got 4 tasks that are being worked on.. the old client got it to 30% for 3 tasks, and 25% for the last one (all on airplane mode.. i downloaded the workload beforehand).
Last night I started up boinc, put the phone on airplane mode, and went to sleep... in the morning, although the phone was fully charged, boinc literally only completed 0.1% more on all 4 tasks.

They've got to get this thing working right.

How are you guys getting this latest from the Google Play store? The latest that I see is version 7.4.53 from 2016.

I had to download the app off apkmirror to get 7.16.3.

I'm hoping that an issue I have with the android client is resolved.. I plug the phone in on airplane mode at night, and when the battery reaches its charge, the client won't start and begin work. I really don't want to have to micromanage the thing...

Android 6.0.1 (Cm13) on Samsung Galaxy S5.

Same issue. Boinc will not run reliably anymore. First few days it worked fine, now however, when the phone is plugged in, it will not start unless the app is opened manually, and it will not compute for more than 30 to 60 minutes before saying "plug into power to continue computing", even though it is.

An update is definitely needed here.

It might have something to do with androids power management taking control of apps to save battery, but even setting the battery optimization for boinc to "not optimized" does nothing.

Might try the previous version of boinc and will report back if it works, and if it does, perhaps the newer version should be replaced by the older one in the play store; I'm sure pretty much everyone has this issue with the boinc Android client.
