Hi, Quarantine@Home is a distributed computing project for Coronavirus research. They currently don't have Boinc support, but on their github repository they are willing to use Boinc, but need help. Is there somebody who can help them out. The project uses Autodock. Thanks! Sjmielh |

Another project is Quarantine@home. No Boinc project unfortunatly, but they have GPU NVIDIA support. |

A PI can run Rosetta, but it needs some extra work Oh and TN-Grid also runs on my PI 4. |

Also, as far as I can see, the app is doing the calculations directly. This differs from BOINC which is a managing app, but has to download the science applications from the project(s) before they can be used for calculations. Well I don't know if this completely correct. You have to select which project you want to use in the Dreamlab as well. Probably the executables are included in the Dreamlab app and not in Boinc (but as you said we don't know for sure because there is no source code). That is the problem that Apple has with the Boinc approach. But it would be very helpful if Boinc uses the Dreamlab approach and bundles the iOS executables with iOS Boinc app. The disadvantage is when an project executable is updated the Boinc App needs to be updated. But the advantage is that you have the potential of lots of new devices. Sjmielh |

The problem you probably have is that the SSL is too old to actually run a project. Einstein@home and seti@home support PowerPC CPUs, but I wasn't able to connect an old mac to run because of the SSL problem. PowerPCs are apparently pretty good for Einstein@home Sjmielh |

Do you have a firewall? Have you tried to disable? Can you also open the Console app (in /Applications/Utilities). Do you see Boinc errors? Sjmielh |

Apple made a change to the App Store policy to allow code execution in apps. But it is only for educational apps and developer apps. I think Boinc is very educational ;-) |

Can you check the Console app. It is an application in /Applications/Utilities. Do you see any errors related to Boinc? |

Yes, the test version solves the problem (OS 10.12.4 and I have the http:/// problem as well) for me |
