shpat,
What Operating System is running?

Windows XP Home Edition

OK, navigate to your Boinc folder, click on the "View" button at the top, and click on "Details". In the "Size" column, look for any files that are larger than 5000 KB, and type them out, (don't try to copy-and-paste} and list them for me, including size, please.

WE've already deleted that unfortunately. We will try to reinstall. Thanks for your reply. shpat

My husband has been a member of seti at home for several years. He recently performed the transfer to Boinc with 60% Seti and 40% Rosetta. He had trouble installing it I know but I was not paying attention. A couple of days later he called me at work and said his computer had slowed down to almost stop. He ran Norton antivirus (up to date) and then attempted to defrag his hard drive. He received a message that he did not even have enough room to defrag. I told him to delete some programs and try again. He has a two year old 2 GHz Pent. 4 with a 30 GB hard drive. While looking at folders and programs to delete he viewed the Boinc folder--he told me it said it was 19.4 GB. I, of course, did not believe him. Sure enough, when I arrived home and looked at it myself he was telling the truth! 19.4 Giga Bytes, not KB, not MB, GB!! I could not believe it! We uninstalled the program and his computer soon returned to normal.

Here is the problem--he would like to continue his work with Seti at home --he had over 8,000 hours logged in. Has anyone else run into this problem?? What can we do? I read the system requirements and it was something like 30 MB. HELP PLEASE
