1) Message boards : Documentation : BOINC Environmentally Neutral in Winter (Message 74901) Posted 22 Dec 2016 by Peter2070 Post: I think this page: https://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Heat_and_energy_considerations should give more prominence and discussion to the fact that a computer (and monitors) act as electric heaters in winter, or whenever heaters are needed. Maybe there should be an extra section on this. A PC can be left on, and other heating systems with thermostats will adjust automatically and use less power.
