1) Message boards : Questions and problems : BOINC causes system crash (Message 30445) Posted 7 Jan 2010 by brembs Post: On my fairly recent install of win7 on my quad-core system (core i7 950, water-cooled, 4GHz), BOINC is also causing system crashes reliably within 5-10 minutes of running. Processor temps never go beyond 49°C (direct MB readout). Machine is Prime95 torture-test stable for much longer than that (I've run it for at least an hour where it will run slightly hotter than BOINC). I'm running MilkyWay@home and SETI@home. My GPU is disabled after reading this thread (even though my GPU is not NVidia-based :-), still it crashes my system reproducibly. Of course, I'm running 6.10.18. With BOINC turned off, no crashes whatsoever. Can anybody replicate this effect or am I the only one? Suggestions? Ideas?
