Auto-changing preferences
(Message 41903)
Posted 3 Jan 2012 by mab Post: I'm having a problem keeping the preferences as I've set them. After some time they auto-change. Interrupt GPU if computer is in use : no becomes yes Suspend work when non-BOINC CPU usage is above 0 means no restriction Enforced by version 6.10.30+ 0% becomes 25% (Even tried 100%) Skip verification : no becomes yes and e few others also. I gave al the preferences of al the boinc projects I participate in exactly the same but for some reason they will not stay that way. I normally do not use the local preferences. |

Importance of L3 cache
(Message 30402)
Posted 1 Jan 2010 by mab Post: "try comparing run times in the top hosts" is no good cause these results are much too diverse. Just need another cpu for running, besides malaria.net, WCG and F@H again. I've read the L2 cache of the amd's is sufficient so I just need advice on L3. |

Importance of L3 cache
(Message 30400)
Posted 1 Jan 2010 by mab Post: I intend to buy a replacement for my X2 4050e but don't want to spend too much money. As it has to crunch malaria.net 24/7 and I'm not doing anything strange/particular with it I'm thinking of a Phenom II X4 810 and downwards like a Athlon II X4 620/630. No I need to know if the L3 cache is of any importance for crunching in order to make a choice between for instance a Phenom II X3 720, a X4 810 or a Athlon II X4 620/630. Anyone any experience with it ? |
