CUFFT32_42_9.dll
Libfftw3f_3_3_upx.dll
SetiathomeE_7.00_windows

What is this GUFF which has been loaded onto my computer, will not load, has an "abort" tag and just will not go away.
I'm not amused.

Well maybe, but do you know that or are you just guessing. If I were one of the "other" things, like people, I would stay away from "US" as far as I could get, and that's so obvious it's not funny. WE are not a very nice bunch of species.
A few years ago, like the 1880's a burial crypt was opened up, in Egypt, after being in the dirt for 2500 years. Over the doorway was a stone lintel, and on it was carved the side on view of a helicopter, among a few other funny carvings.
I spent 6 years working on choppers in the RAN, and 10 years in the Space Business
and then 11 years on chopper simulators. I think I know what they look like, on 2500 year old lintel bricks or yesterdays newspapers.
I do SETI because I know there are people, but not like us, out there and maybe one day they will poke their heads up and say "howdy doo" but until we sort out our crap ideas, nobody in his right mind would want a get involved with our stupidity, regardless of the opportunities.
When are we going to clean up the "shit", or are we going to leave it to kill millions of innocent people.
If "YOU" were a space person and had a opportunity to get among us, would you
make the move to be part of this planets societies.
Right now all I want it to "ask for data" rather than have it shoved down my throat in large quantities.

Recently I have been running 2 computers, 2 lots of 5 cores, 4 from a CPU and 1 from a GPU, but when I upload the results of data processing, the next thing that happens is I get a wad of download, and its on top of a huge wad of data sitting on my computers.
My problem is that it takes hours to get the stuff downloaded, because it gets halfway down and stops for yonks.
Its getting a bit crazy. Is it possible for me to ask for downloads, when they ae needed because I'm currently aborting stuff that just hangs there.
I hate to waste data but I've only got so much tims.

A month ago I got two pages of tasks, ON BOTH COMPUTERS, immediatly after I dumped that other task, like the one that appeared from the blue and set things up so that Seti was second in line.
One computer still has them while the other has sent them packing. Its a bit boring, and probably so am I, but these boxes are mine.

Maybe they will get interested one day and set out to find out how we live on this planet, with all of the crap we generate on a daiy basis. If I was outside looking in, I'm absolutely shore I wouldn't want to mix with us for any reason
regardless of the reasons we want to put foward to give reason for looking for them.
We will ONLY find them if they want us to find them, because they have been around here long enough to know what we are.
I think that the Apollo program proved that we are too big to be playing around
in space, too much need for tucker and toilets.

you are not kidding. I have two 5 core machines "full to the hilt" of Seti tasks, and I really mean full to the hilt, over 2000 hours of caculation on EACH machine and that can be 40 minute and 5 hour tasks.
My question is this. Who drives the stuff into my machine, and am I being given hell by NOT WANTING ABC tasks when I didn't ask for them.
There are a lot of tasks in these two computers that cannot possibly be processed so whats the point of providing not just dozens of tasks but hundreds.
I am ONLY interested in SETI, and other stuff bores me silly, so whats the sense in overloads, it will get wasted.

When I look at the box, and see the number of cores my CPU might have I also see the list of GPU's and it seems that they are associated with CPU cores.
Or is this kind of strange. In other words can I run one GPU per CPU core. I haven't bothered about this in the past, just getting 4 cores running was my ideal but now I'm going, hopefully, to add another box with another 4 cores and I noticed those GPU things.
Am I one the right track, and can I put a GPU off each CPU core or is this just a dream. It might be difficult to fit 4 GPU's in my existing box so where would I put them? And how would I connect them up???
I can't see anything useful to do with a computer, other than things like Seti, and muck about with card games, the rest is just crap, and pretty stinking crap at that, U Tube etc, so can I invest in GPU's to get more Seti moving.
I'm old and dumb so I'm sorry to have bothered you??

Well whether you are the Boinc mob or not, I'm running Boinc, the program calls itself BOINC,and pops up a Boinc pic on the screen. I'm not really particular right now whether I run it or both or nothing.
Who sends the data isn't a bother as long as it gets here, and I never said anyone is at fault, so if I can't get satisfaction from you, what's the chances of getting it from Seti? Or who do I get it off?
I have been trying for over 24 hours to get data, and I have been requesting it from the source, whoever it is.
Jord...If you aren't involved in the data business, what the hell do you do? Anything or nothing.?
Actually it's 12 midnight here, Perth Western Australia, and I have a belly full of steel studs from a operation a week ago, I hurt, I'm uncomfortable and fed up, and I'm trying to get data to continue running the program, or information why I can't get it, and I get you. The "Bonic FAQ Service" which to me means "NO ANSWERED QUESTIONS".
Cheerrs and than you for the great service. MaxG.

What's going on overr there, I'm down to 1 hour left of a AP and just one core running, and I've tried whatever to get more data, without any sucess. Who runs the show, can I get a load of data to make this box work properly..??>??

Ageless....Come on I've been running this stuff for a years, I've had Astro Pulse stuff running out my ears, and I've NEVER seen an AP , aka Astro Pulse, task that was longer than 20 hours or so, prior to playing around with Throttle. And the program running in my box is Boinc, which allows it to handle Seti.
But that 309 hours is now 245 hours, it's lost about 60 hours already.
Aren't we on about the same thing.
If I might ask, me running Boinc means I am really running Seti so what the hell am I doing running Boinc, and what does it do anyway, if it doesn't muddle away with those bits of data that uploads into my box. Since I only run Seti tasks, just one project.
This is a Throttle problem, which is Boinc and not Seti.
It, these very long and variable hours associated with AP, and other tasks, never happened prior to me running Throttle, which might be of interest.
Normal computer operations, Boinc suspened, runs at 45C, on all 4 cores, but with a 4 core task runnning on Seti it goes up to 65 and with Throttle it is set at 60.
Throttle directly effects the time factor of ALL tasks. Which isn't at all what one expects. YOu wanted comments. This is just that.

Today I received an AP task that has a 76 hour time frame. Is this correct or has my use of the Throttle extended the time?????

Fred... It's done it again, it, temp control, was turned off, it's rebuilt the program list.
Or something has. Added 10 hours to AP tasks and 30 minutes to 1 hour jobs.
Not funny Fred.

Well I did it,and ran throttle on my Quad Core, which has been running on Seti for months without throttle, and it has been going along at a steady 60/65 deg since
I got the quad core
As soon as I throttled it, setting the temp at 60 degrees got throttled all right, and reduced the temp to a max of 60 and a low of 55.
But it added a heap of time to the process and it took about twice the time to do the job.
Since there didn't seem to be any need, too little temp variation in relation to added calculation time, it's off. The graphic is nice and would be worth having but for me and my box I think throttling is not really necessary.
If however I was running a dozen projects with a wide variety of tasks things might be different. But I'm on one project and the temps seem to be constant and the fan is pretty quiet generally.
The processor is a Intel, Q8400 quad on a Dell Inspiron.

"Yes, the current limits are:
Per CPU: 6
Per GPU: 48
Max 1000 per computer"

Why do my requested tasks only get 2 and when they are done I get the same thing, 2 more.
How do I get only AP tasks and more than 2 at a time?
It's time wasting and requires constant attention to the computer and constant connection to the net.
