I have the same problem with version 7. Each task would complete, but BOINC Manager would not request new ones. I do not consider myself stupid, but the explanation of the parameters for minimum and maximum work buffers in the network preferences is VERY difficult to understand. It should not take a genius to determine the implications of these settings. After trying a setting, I now have gone from zero to 16 tasks of World Community Grid and one of Malariacontrol.net.

That means that out of my 6 projects, only three (including climateprediction) will operate for the next week and a half until WCG tasks are flushed.

Version 7 seems like a downgrade to me. Is there any way to flush version 7 and reinstall version 6?

I receive several messages daily from my firewall such as "a computer at einstein.phys.uwm.edu has attempted an unsolicited connection to TCP port 3808 on your computer". Can anyone shed light on why and whether this is legitimate? My projects seem to operate fine even though these attempts are intercepted and blocked by my firewall.

It seems that for the last week, none of my projects are updating. I get messages that the projects are down for maintenance or no work is available. Rosetta has stopped. World Community claims to be down for maintenance and not uploading work units. Then after days of this, Rosetta downloaded work. MilkyWay downloaded work that had way too many hours required for the time and Boinc had to force it into Priority mode.

Is something going on with Boinc?

Why aren't BOINC and the BOINC projects on the social network sites like Facebook? An article about the World Community Grid links to Facebook. This could be VERY EFFECTIVE advertising for BOINC! How do I get the attention of Berkeley to make this happen?
