Google launches Monopoly Online
(Message 28591)
Posted 9 Nov 2009 by jlhiowa Post: Oh this is awesome! Monopoly was my favorite board game, but I have not played it in a long time. I will definitely have to play this once the semester ends... or when I feel like procrastinating on schoolwork, LOL. |

Posted 9 Nov 2009 by jlhiowa Post: Hello, hopefully this is okay to post in "The Lounge". If not, I'm sorry, and this can be deleted. If you have a toaster, please take my 4-question survey. I only need 12 more responses to reach 100 :) http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=2Mox1bVXU7v5nM1ETo9G9g_3d_3d BTW, it’s probably easiest to do at home, because I ask if you are plugged into a GFCI outlet, and how much space is around the toaster. Thank you!! :) |

Add a torrent option for downloading BOINC?
(Message 28550)
Posted 7 Nov 2009 by jlhiowa Post: I don't believe the dev have considered supplying the Boinc itself through torrent. Would it be okay for a BOINC user to make a BOINC torrent, or is that something the developers/admins don't want? |

Add a torrent option for downloading BOINC?
(Message 28542)
Posted 7 Nov 2009 by jlhiowa Post: Is there a possibility of adding a torrent option for downloading the BOINC installer? I know that the program size is small (~7 MB), and that there are mirrors to help out, but there are lots of BOINC users, so it seems like torrenting could help save bandwidth. Sorry if this has already been discussed. When I searched, the closest thing I found was someone who has made BOINC torrents before: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=924 |

6.10.17 - CPU cache size not identified correctly
(Message 28541)
Posted 7 Nov 2009 by jlhiowa Post: Hello, not sure if this matters, but I believe that BOINC is not correctly recognizing my CPU's cache size. I think the Intel Q9450 CPU has 12 MB of cache, not 6 MB of cache. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if BOINC did this before I upgraded. GPU not detected
(Message 28540)
Posted 7 Nov 2009 by jlhiowa Post: 03/11/2009 12:38:32 Running as a daemon Thank you for the explanation. I just upgraded to 6.10.17 and had the same problem/question, and now I know how to fix it :) During the install, I read the information about 'Protected application execution', but was not clear on which 'application' would be limited. Would it be possible to re-write the message on the install so it is more explicit? |
