Thanks for your reply Gundolf.
However I don't understand what you mean by that, in the sense that I haven't changed my account or something in the last months.
Can I try to repair this somehow or will it resolve itself?

Hello, I know BOINC Stats has nothing to do with BOINC but here are the most people reading and thus the possibility of an answer. I see that I have lost about 11 million credits in the last two days while my rigs get more tha one million a day. How is that possible?

Hello,
I would like to go from version 6 to 7.0.64 on a windows vista x86 pc but get the follow message: the feature you are trying to use ison a network resourse that is unavailable.

How can I resolve this issue?
Thanks

Edit: Google search did not much help, as it came with office and such.
The BOINC FAQ did the trick. I de-installed BOINC and cleaned the registry.
Not it is working again. So do not bother the reply on this post I made in an upset state as I am already 2 hours trying to update BOINC and thus it is not crunching. Sorry.

Edit: a moderator may remove this thread.

When in doubt, try throwing the error code into a search engine. It's what I do.
The error you get is NOT a BOINC error, but a Windows Installer error.

See http://www.okino.com/conv/changing_windows_registry_permissions.htm for a fix.

Thanks Jord, that helped, but I got a link from you from someone on the GPUGRID forum. I use google to less :)
Strange as I installed a lot of software today fro a new GPU. But anyhow all is working and I am crunching again.
Thanks again.

Hello I got the message to update to BOINC 7.0.54 and as the installation is almost ready I got an error message" Error 1402, Could not open key: UNKNOWN\Components\D6F8BE...\...148F. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

How can I solve this? Now nothing is working anymore, the previous version 7.0.28 is no longer complete.
Has anyone a solution please?
Thanks

Trying to install BOINC 7.0.28 again gives the same message. I have the error message on the desk top as a jpeg bit I don't know how to get that message here for you to see.

Al in all no BOINC is working anymore :(

Hello,
When trying to reach Rosetta I get an message that it is forbidden for me to go there see the message:
Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /rosetta/results.php on this server.

Am I the only one or is it weekend again at Rosies place?

Rosetta@home

Anyone know what's happening? The entire site seems down.

The project seems to be out of this world at the moment. Even the main page is not reachable. No new work, not uploading, the usual stuff. I choose another project for the rest of the weekend.

Quite picture of that cat :)

Am I the only one with problems reaching Rosetta?

Can't upload, get new work, report, or go to the main page.

F-Secure had a working solution, but with the new update from late October it went into trouble again. I have had some beta versions and they are still working on a solution.
So the support from F-Secure is very good and one of the best AV around according to several tests.

Working on the issue is a bit hard at the moment as Rosetta can't be reached.

Post:
Hello Max,

The CPU feed the GPU from time to time and will eventually put together the ready WU. In very short description.
If the CPU is only using 0.25%, indeed it can do more.
When applying more graphic boards in a computer there is mostly need of a powerful power supply. Also must the mother board (MOBO) have enough slots to accept these crunching graphics boards. Most MOBO's can handle 2 of them, but 4 to 6 is possible but then you need an extended ATX MOBO and big case to fit all in. That wil become very expensive.
Keep in mind that it will use a lot of power, so your enery bill will rise, the box will become warmer (the room too) and makes more noise.

You can also add projects to crunch with the CPU only. I do that for Einstein@home and Rosetta@home for instance.

I hopes this helps a bit.

Thank you Richard for your quick replay, I will search there.

Einstein@home however doesn't have any problems with me and F-Secure neither does Milkyway.

It is Rosetta and LHC which work fine but won't upload unless I remove F-Secure completely of remove Online Safety. F-Secure is very helpfull to me to get the problem fixed, perhaps some url's need on a safe-list.

To solve a big problem with uploading while using F-Secure, there is probably a solution.
However we need to know to which web site BOINC is requesting to upload.
Where can I find in a file in the BOINC directories this information?
Is it the main project site?

Thanks for the help.

According to the second post, the Online Safety is a separate program and can be uninstalled through Uninstall a program (the old Add/Remove Programs in Windows). Start->Control Panel->Programs->Uninstall a program.

That's what I thought but no it is something within f-secure.
The point is that all worked fine until an update from f-secure. And I want an extra firewall/virusscanner just to be sure.
Indeed mails from people I don't know will be deleted without opening. No doubt about that ;-).

I said goodbye to KPN (father of XS4All and Planet) when they disconnected me without sufficient cause, moved to Ziggo, never looked back. Cable does give (me at least) the speed they advertise. I've got a 120Mbit connection and 14.9MB/sec. downloads. But then you must have that possibility of course, not everyone can (easily) swap to another provider.

But then, I did a Google search and found this thread at F-Secure forums, looks like it is F-Secure being overly secure.

Also see this thread. This person fixed it by Uninstalling the "Online Safety" function.

Thanks, I look there but did not find any 'online safety' in my f-secure subsription.`
Well then no more crunching for LHC and Rosetta, until I have new firewall.

Well, it's something you'll have to ask the makers of F-secure then.

I asked them I even plead them but they don't know. Could be Iolo they guess, but I have another computer with an old version of f-secure with Iolo and no ploblems.
I even asked the provider (XS4ALL) who give f-secure for free with the subsription but they also don't know.
I will go back to McAffee later but have to buy then 6 licencies.

Am I the only one in the BOINC community with this problem? I can hardly imagine.

The solution is to exclude the BOINC data directory and all of its files and sub-directories from being (actively) scanned by your AV scanner. Only scan in here manually, after you exited or suspended BOINC.

Thanks for your answer Jord, I just found out how to do that and did it. However files are still not uploading. Do I need to reboot the system?

Rebooting the system did not help. The WU's from LHC won't upload and are already 3 days trying. Well 2 days for the deadline and than again 39 hours of cpu time lost thanks to f-secure.
