Sorry, they found a bug in their code.
Now it's working, so the bug is not on your side!

2/10/2012 9:33:37 AM | Milkyway@Home | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
2/10/2012 9:33:37 AM | Milkyway@Home | No tasks sent
2/10/2012 9:33:37 AM | Milkyway@Home | Message from server: GPU lacks necessary double precision extension

My GPU is AMD Radeon HD6970 (Cayman), drivers are updated (12.1).
Milkyway@Home admins keep telling that they check correctly in their scheduler, in fact for some people it is working. Yet on my computer it does not work. They told me that my BOINC Manager isn't reporting all the cl extensions to the server: cl_khr_fp64 or cl_amd_fp64 is required for that app and it's missing in the info my boinc manager reports back.
If I query clinfo locally I can say that I have cl_amd_fp64 (cl_khr_fp64 still not available, should be in one of the next catalyst release, but at least I have one of them).

I have also now disabled & uninstalled BOINC 5.10.45 because it has somehow interferred with some services I manually set up with AnyService Installer for WHS. I blamed boinc 5.10 because nothing else changed, uninstalling it magically re-enabled my services which started without erroring out but were not working

ps: I have just sent an email to Rom

I have just installed BOINC 5.10.45 and I found that it works correctly, at least it seems so now (service and network data directory, well installation directory as it was in v5.x).
Fortunately the server doesn't have any gpu in now, but if I want to add one I will be in serious troubles... did you get any news, Ageless?

I asked the developers a couple of days ago, but am still waiting for an answer. I'll send another email after it.

Thank you Ageless. I'll patiently wait

Thanks Gundolf Jahn but Windows Home Server doesn't work as a domain controller. I don't know if the issue could be the same, I don't know how a domain controller precisely works under the hood.

To be precise, I have installed 6.10.11 after having tried a lot of older version (6.4.5, 6.4.7, 6.6.20, 6.6.36, 6.10.3/4/5/6) without any luck

I have just installed BOINC 6.10.11 on Windows Home Server (it's a Windows Server 2003 variant).

First of all I must say that it's impossible to use a network directory as a "Data folder" for BOINC (and it's a problem with WHS because you should use its HDD with network path to not disturb drive manager) and so I had to manually put a physical drive directory (hoping to not destroy my backups circumventing network paths). If I put a network path, manager cannot connect to client.
Second thing, it's impossible to install as a service (protected mode execution during installation) because in this way the manager is unable to connect to the client. Why? It's rather annoying because WHS is headless and I never keep a user logged on!

Any suggestion or is this the only way at the moment to use boinc on WHS?
Thanks a lot!
