GPU Stopped Being Detected After Installing In Service Mode

GPU Stopped Being Detected After Installing In Service Mode
(Message 39943)
Posted 29 Aug 2011 by ashes999 Post: I have a Windows 7 box with a GeForce GT 9800 GPU. I was running BOINC with GPUGRID since May without problems. Today, I uninstalled and reinstaled BOINC (latest version), and specified to run BOINC as a service. Since then, BOINC cannot find my GPU, and gives me the usual "no usable GPUs found" message in the activity log. I tried updating my GPU drivers to the latest version (280.26), just in-case, but it didn't help. What's going on? Suitable for Endless Projects?
(Message 27164)
Posted 8 Sep 2009 by ashes999 Post: Is BOINC suitable to be used for projects without end? While most of the projects have a start and an end, some require constant updating and maintenance. I had an idea to use BOINC to write some search-engine crawling and indexing (as the core computation); assuming I have access to the network API, this project would never end, since the index needs to be constantly updated. |

BOINC and Ruby?
(Message 27163)
Posted 8 Sep 2009 by ashes999 Post: Does BOINC have a Ruby API? In other words, if I make a BOINC app, can I write my core cruncher-code in Ruby? If not, are there plans to support this anytime soon? |
