ClimatePrediction's main web site, http://climateprediction.net/ is under attack, so its admin has taken it off line.

Do we need to take any action?

On the asteroids@home problem, I was under the impression it would be up sometime on the 18th but no such luck. I doubt we'll see it open before next week. It's basically supposed to be open from 9 AM to 7 PM UTC, which sounds a lot like normal weekday business hours, I'm guessing that it might be closed on weekends. Sure do wish we had something definite about when it will be back up. I've suspended it and went into the BOINC xml files and lowered it's priority so the percentages that the BOINC manager shows will be more accurate. I wish there was an option in the BOINC manager to have it display the real percentages each project has with the suspended projects having a share of zero. Currently, I've got work_fetch_debug turned on in the cc_config file so that I can see the real percentages in the event log.

I've just had to reset it as it's obviously down for at least the holidays and I had work that was due in the next few days.

I let it go longer this time, but this is still just a thread bump so it won't autolock. Nothing new on Pasquale's page.

I looked at his home page and it really looks like he's not done anything at all recently which makes me wonder if Orbit will ever get off the ground.

It would be the ideal replacement for the soon-to-go-defunct SIMAP.

SIMAP has distributed all workunits from its final batch of BOINC work.

Once they (and any necessary resends) have been returned, SIMAP will cease to be a BOINC project.

Thanks for posting that info ;-)

The department is probably closed for the holidays already or Professor Wandelt may be away and everything seems to grind to a halt when that happens.

This is the server status page: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_status.html

It's Seti/Astropulse Beta. not Seti@home you are talking about, just realized - a slight difference.

My error, sorry.

Seti doesn't say it is down when I go there.

Boinc can also communicate:

07/11/2014 9:46:30 AM | SETI@home | update requested by user
07/11/2014 9:46:32 AM | SETI@home | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.
07/11/2014 9:46:32 AM | SETI@home | Not requesting tasks: don't need
07/11/2014 9:46:35 AM | SETI@home | Scheduler request completed

If it was down it would say so.

Yes, I'm on it - the reminder came very late and I was traveling so I didn't get back to them immediately...

Cosmology@home seems to be offline and the Home Page link now leads to an unrelated website. It appears their website may have been hijacked...

I think their domain name has expired.

Yes, I missed this bit:

cosmologyathome.org expired on 08/13/2014 and is pending renewal or deletion.

I looked up Dr. Wandelt at Uni of Ill. and emailed him about it.
