HI
I am having trouble getting the BOINC client running again, under Ubunto 16.04
I installed it from the command line. I can see the program installed in the BOINC directory. I don't want to install BOINC from apt-get because it always installs the old version of the client (naturally).
I can see the boinc and the run_client and the run_manager in the directory. I cant run the program to start the client?
Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks

HI

Thanks for the reply, Last night it had a lot of seti@home work ready to be processed. They are all gone now, what else is new? The next time I have work assigned should I disconnect the modem so they can't be taken? Assigned work disappearing happens ALL the time.

Thanks for any help

Martin

HI

Boinc 7.6.31 in Ubuntu 16.04 not getting new work for seti@home.
I am not sure I wanted my computer running for 8 hours without processing new work? I think that’s why I stopped working seti@home 6 years ago,
Does anyone know why I am not getting new work? Should seti@home be this hard to use?

Thanks

Hi

I have had an account at boinc since 2005. I was processing work units on my Ubuntu machine. This morning, The boinc was not assigned to a project and I cant seem to find my boinc account? I had over 1 million work units? Is that just gone? If I have to use this new account I will stop processing seti work units?

Thanks for any help?

Martin
