1) Message boards : Teams : Crunch for Carl Sagan (Message 26161)

Oh gosh, now you're really pulling on my heart strings when I'd already renamed and promoted my old SETI team with several members... if team Jumpgate Evolution sorta flops and nobody from that gaming community joins in order for me to really track concisely how many credits I've specifically influenced a bunch of people to accumulate due to my promoting, the other active member and I will come over and crunch for Carl; we've both just updated our systems significantly for BOINC and I'm goin' to town way more than ever. Don't be surprised to see us; I haven't had anyone join JGE yet but the other guy and I have about 118k credits -- would those transfer to Carl or would we start crunching for your team from scratch?
Thanks,
Div
2) Message boards : Questions and problems : why is CPU usage unaffected by task running? (Message 26124)

Okay, now the CPU usage goes to 100% -- before, it must have been like Gundolf said and I had GPU-only tasks at the time. All of my settings were as stated: everything max'ed out.
I have v6.6.36 running on Vista 64.

I am only using SETI... ZPM says he doesn't think that's giving my PC enough work; I thought when the settings were maxed it used all the resources available to crunch as much as possible, even if just from the one project i.e. I'm now crunching a bunch of SETI tasks simultaneously and my CPU usage stays at 100% often, sometimes in the high 70's temporarily... I can't help but think if I added another project it would cut my SETI efficiency significantly
My goal is currently to crunch as much SETI as possible. I mean, if it wouldn't slow SETI down hardly at all, I would like to find a quasar and name it or whatever (LOL), help medical organic chemistry etc., but I am 99% dedicated to SETI.

I have two NVidia GeForce 9800 GTX+ GPU's running SLI together, hopefully making the most of the latest CUDA-enabled BOINC ware... I mean, I got SETI going and went to sleep and when I woke up I had 45 credits... I don't know good that is... ?

But here's what really confuses me:
I don't know how to monitor what the GPUs' usages are, real-time, like my CPU performance monitor, but my CPU performance monitor shows about the same 1-6% usage when a SETI task is crunching as when I've suspended BOINC! When I suspend BOINC my RAM usage goes from 25%(crunching) to 24%(suspended).
Now, I have, under Preferences, all checks in boxes for computing allowed, multiprocessor usage at 100%, CPU usage at 100%, Disk & Memory at defaults, and BOINC Activity is set on Run Always!
So how can mu CPU usage be virtually unaffected, according to both my gaming keyboard LCD readout and the desktop tachometer CPU & RAM widget thing???
I have a liquid-cooled and heavily ventilated quad-core with 8GB RAM.

Even after total shutdown of PC, upon booting, a message comes up saying you must reboot your pc to run Boinc <-- the same msg. every time I try starting Boinc Manager (after multiple reboots/shutdown-for-minutes, etc.)

Vista 64
Quad Core / 8GB RAM
Dual NVidia GeForce 9800 GTX+'s / SLI

I tried admin priviledges.
